Practice Rides OffRoad 2025

We hold monthly social rides during March to September each year to meet others and hone your strength and skills. If you are not confident on your mountain bike, here is a perfect opportunity to practice with others. Bring a friend who wants to gain experience.
You do not have to be a registered rider to join us.

8 March 2025 – Heritage Trail Loop - Completed

Around 30 riders took part in the 42 km ride around the Heritage Trail Loop and enjoyed the meal at the Mt Helena Tavern.

29 March 2025 – John Forrest Mountain Bike Trails

A different ride to the Heritage Trail Loop, this will take in the John Forrest Nation Park Noolbenger Trails.

Meeting at the Parkerville Tavern (car park opposite) at 3:30pm for a 4:00pm roll out, we will head down the Heritage Trail until we strike the trailhead for the Northern side Noolbenger track. This ride will see us traverse the ridges and valleys to the North of the Heritage trail and will come back out on the Heritage trail not far from the Swan View rail tunnel before crossing to do the Southern side Noolbanger track and heading back up to the Parkerville Tavern and a meal. The event will be released on Facebook shortly, if you are interested in staying for the meal please let Shane G know ([email protected])

The ride is around 25km in length and has around 500m of climbing, good practice for parts of the Munda Biddi ride in May, and the views are worth it.

13 April 2025 – Kalamunda to Mt Dale

We have put together a 1-day event that will very closely replicate days 2 and 3 of the Munda Biddi ride in May that take in lots of gravel roads and some (almost) single track.

The ride will start at the Bibbulmun Track and follow the Kalamunda Railway Heritage Trail, heading towards Pickering Brook and then onto Mt Dale.

It will be a challenge, as the full route will traverse around 71 km and climb approx. 1100 m.  The GPX track for this route can be found at Alltrails - Kalamunda to Pickering Brook

If that seems a little too challenging, a shorter route traversing around 52.5 km and climbing 930 m can be done. The GPX track for this route can be found at Alltrails - Pickering Brook-Mt-Dale
